Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music, Ann Arbor, Michigan, to form chapters of female college students and alumnae who have a sincere interest in music. As of 2004 our membership includes 107,000 initiated members and over 330 chapters.
For over 100 years SAI's mission has been to unite women in their love of music by providing leadership and performance opportunities as well as reaching out to the community through service projects. Any female music student who has been at NJCU at least one semester and is taking a music class may pledge membership. Membership is based on scholarship, musicianship, and character.
